Understanding The Levels Of Care At Skyline

We offer a varying level of outpatient rehab options. By understanding these levels of care, you can identify the one that best fits in with your life and needs.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

A partial hospitalization program, or PHP, is the highest level of outpatient care. It runs up to 8 hours per day and 5 days per week. It can be the perfect fit for moderate to severe substance use or mental health conditions that do not require hospitalization. It can also serve as a step-down option after you have completed inpatient rehab.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

An IOP offers a moderate level of outpatient care. It runs up to 5 hours per day and 3 days per week in the mornings and evenings. It is a highly flexible option that can be a stand-alone care program or a step-down option after you have completed a PHP. IOPs offer psychotherapy, medication management, skills development, social support, and ongoing care, just as a PHP does.

Outpatient Program

Outpatient treatment programs are standard outpatient treatment options that are least restrictive. You attend weekly therapy sessions and support groups anywhere between 1 and 2 hours. You can also receive personalized medical management whenever the need arises. It can be a stand-alone care option but fits right in with effective ongoing care plans.

  • You require more support than weekly outpatient treatment sessions.
  • You are transitioning from higher levels of care, like a partial hospitalization program (PHP), and require a certain level of ongoing care and structure.
  • You can travel to and from the IOP treatment center.
  • You have a supportive family or a sober living residence to go back to after your intensive substance use and mental health outpatient programs.

IOP Treatment Modalities At Skyline

We offer a diverse range of treatment modalities to avoid a one-size-fits-all approach to your care. We believe your care must be just as unique as your story.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT):

CBT identifies and changes maladaptive thinking patterns to restructure self-defeating emotions and behaviors underlying substance use and mental health struggles.

Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT):

DBT focuses on the 4 core principles of mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness to minimize and manage self-defeating behaviors.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR):

Effective for treating trauma and PTSD, EMDR is a therapeutic approach designed to help individuals process distressing memories and emotions linked to traumatic events.

Medication-Assisted Treatment

MAT uses both medication and psychotherapy to treat substance use disorders and mental health conditions. It is specifically useful in treating alcohol use disorder and opioid use disorder.

Family Systems Therapy

Family systems therapy believes in the idea that when something affects one family member, it affects the entire family. By getting the family to function as a unit, it fosters better communication, dynamics, and healing.

Group Therapy

Group therapy brings together 5-10 members who are on similar recovery journeys to foster connection, healing, and support.

Trauma-Informed Care

By understanding the role of trauma in substance use and mental health struggles, we seek to integrate trauma-sensitive approaches like eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) in our treatment.

Holistic Healing Practices

Holistic healing practices like deep breathing exercises, meditation, mindfulness, yoga, art therapy, music therapy, dance therapy, and physical wellness are incorporated to complement traditional therapeutic approaches.
