Recovery is never a one-size-fits-all – and at the Skyline Recovery Center, it never has to be. We are a trusted and accredited outpatient behavioral health care center based in Los Angeles, designed for those navigating mental health challenges, substance use, or both at once. That means you receive a full range of structured outpatient treatment that meets you where you are under one roof, with a licensed and experienced clinical team that understands your story from day one.

Whether you are balancing daily life and recovery or stepping down from residential treatment, Skyline Recovery aims to be beside you as you journey toward a healthier, fulfilling life.

Levels of Care: How We Treat

Skyline Recovery offers a full continuum of outpatient care, so your treatment can evolve with you as your needs change, so that you will never have to start over once again.

PHP

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Our most structured outpatient option offers 6-8 hours of intensive daytime programming for 5 days per week. It is ideal for those who need intensive care but do not require 24/7 supervision.

IOP

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

A step down from PHP, it runs for 9-15 hours per week with flexible morning, afternoon, and evening sessions. It is designed to be structured and flexible so that you will not have to juggle between recovery and daily life responsibilities, such as studies, jobs, and family responsibilities.

OT

Outpatient Therapy

Weekly individual and group therapy sessions that offer ongoing care, recovery maintenance, relapse prevention, and personal growth.

Virtual IOP

Virtual IOP

Virtual IOP offers the same structure and clinical oversight as in-person IOP, but is delivered through secure online platforms for those who need greater flexibility or live outside the Los Angeles region.

Neither of these outpatient levels of care exists on its own. They are a continuum, in that you can begin at one level and move to the other as your needs evolve. This is known as a step-down model – which begins at the intensity you need, then gradually reduces program hours as you move toward stability and health. It is a treatment that moves with you, not one that lets go all at once.

The Care You Need and Deserve Must Be Seamless

Contact Skyline Recovery Center to understand how structured outpatient care can be personalized to your needs, goals, and schedule for a personalized and seamless recovery experience.

What We Treat?

Skyline Recovery provides integrated care for a wide range of behavioral health concerns, as mental health and substance use rarely exist in isolation.

Mental Health Conditions

  • Anxiety disorders
  • Major depressive disorder
  • Bipolar disorders
  • Trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
  • Personality disorders
  • Schizophrenia
  • Stress-related disorders and major life transitions.

Substance Use Disorders

  • Alcohol use disorder
  • Cannabis use disorder
  • Opioid use disorder
  • Stimulant use disorder
  • Prescription medication misuse
  • Polysubstance misuse
  • Others.

Dual Diagnosis Treatment

For many of those who are facing a mental health condition and a substance use disorder at the same time, our integrated model treats both at once, as treating these conditions together offers a well-rounded road to your recovery.

Trauma-Focused Care

We offer specialized care for those whose mental health or substance use struggles are rooted in past trauma – approached with evidence-based, trauma-informed methods every step of the way.

Evidence-Based Therapeutic Modalities

Psychotherapeutic modalities become the cornerstone of your recovery from mental health and substance use conditions as they offer the tools and skills you need to explore your challenges and develop coping mechanisms for a healthier, fulfilling life.

Every person who comes to us at Skyline Recovery receives personalized, evidence-based therapeutic modalities that are designed to meet them where they are.

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy offers a private, one-on-one setting where you can explore your past and present challenges with a licensed therapist to develop the tools you need to lay a strong foundation for your recovery.

Group Therapy

Group therapy offers a therapist-led, supportive setting where you meet and connect with peers who are experiencing similar challenges as you.

One of the most widely used therapies, it offers a safe setting where you can explore your thinking patterns and reframe those driving unwanted behaviors into healthier, productive ones.

Based on cognitive-behavioral techniques, it is a skill-based therapy that combines mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness, which becomes a strong foundation for a healthier life going forward.

Family Therapy

Family therapy enables you and your loved ones to rebuild trust and develop healthier communication and dynamics so that you feel safe in your recovery journey going forward.

It is a trauma-focused therapy that requires you to move your eyes in a certain way to process and heal from past trauma.

Holistic Healing Therapies

You also receive holistic healing therapies that focus on the whole you – such as nutrition, sleep, exercise, breathwork, meditation, and mindfulness, among others, that complement traditional therapy.

We See You, We Hear You, And We Are Invested In Your Recovery

Please Note: This table is only for your information. What Treatment Looks Like Day-to-Day?

Both PHP and IOP offer similar services, but at varying intensities. While treatment plans may differ, here is how your typical day-to-day may look like:

Beginning of the Day

The day begins with a check-in. You will:

  • You will begin by sharing how you are feeling
  • You will collaborate with your clinical team to set the goals of the day
  • You will connect with your peers for group therapy.

Middle of the Day

The middle of the day is where the core of the treatment happens:

  • You will engage in evidence-based individual therapies like cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy
  • You will engage in skill training sessions and practical coping strategies to deal with your life’s stressors in a healthier way.

Later In the Day

Toward the later part of the day:

  • You will practice the new tools and skills you learned
  • You will build on your communication and cultivate relationships
  • You will focus on developing structure in your daily life to prioritize healing
  • Before you leave, there will be a final check-in and planning for the next day.

Throughout the Week

Throughout the week, you will receive daily therapy and clinical oversight. But you will also learn:

  • Deep breathing exercises
  • Meditation and mindfulness practices
  • Relapse prevention strategies
  • Creative and reflective exercises.

This type of structure is based on repetitiveness and predictability, so when you know what to expect – it will ease your journey for you, especially as you grow into it every day.

Insurance and Payment

Your finances must not stand between you and the care you need and deserve. This is why Skyline Recovery collaborates with many major private insurance companies to ease the burden of finances on you.

However, we understand that insurance can be difficult to understand. But you do not have to figure this out on your own. When you reach out to Skyline Recovery, our in-house insurance experts will confidentially verify your insurance and explain your coverage and benefits to you. This is a free-of-cost, no-obligation step. It is only for your information.

If you do not have insurance, you need not worry. We have self-pay options as well. Do not hesitate to reach out to us; we can figure out the best payment path going forward.
