Sheldon Cohen, LMFT

Clinical Director

Sheldon Cohen is the Clinical Director of Skyline Recovery Center, where he combines clinical expertise with a strong commitment to leadership and program development. Since earning his degree from Philips Graduate Institute in 2015, Sheldon has built his career working across the continuum of care, with a primary focus on co-occurring disorders and addiction.

He began his work in the field treating adolescents at the intensive outpatient (IOP) and partial hospitalization (PHP) levels of care before transitioning to working with adults in residential treatment. After becoming licensed, Sheldon stepped into management roles, where he discovered a passion not only for clinical work but for leadership, supervision, and the development of emerging clinicians.

Over the past two years at Skyline, Sheldon has embraced his role as Clinical Director, focusing on fostering a strong clinical culture and mentoring therapists at all stages of their professional growth. He is particularly passionate about training interns and early-career clinicians, helping them build confidence, sharpen their skills, and grow into the therapists they are meant to become (while also normalizing that no one ever fully “figures it all out”).

In addition to his leadership role, Sheldon maintains a private practice, where he continues to provide individual therapy on weekends—because his idea of balance still includes a full clinical schedule.

Outside of his professional life, Sheldon prioritizes self-care through cooking, Muay Thai, fitness, spending time outdoors, traveling when possible, and hanging out with his dog, Kiera, who may very well think she runs the household.
